Lajuana Burleigh Smith April 03, 1958 – February 03, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Lajuana Burleigh Smith, age 60, who passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev.

Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the services. Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. She was employed with Albertsons for many years.

Lajuana was an outgoing, feisty person whose moto in life was “mind over matter”. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports. She loved playing cards, boo ray and going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Terlin Smith of Carencro; six daughters, Keisha Guy and her husband, Josh, of Carencro, Tracie Smith Lenormand and her husband, Rocky, of Carencro, Kristy Hebert and her husband, Ryan, of Scott, Amy Keown and her husband, Michael, of Carencro, Lynn Fontenot and her husband, Christopher, of Carencro, and Jamie Smith of Breaux Bridge; one son, Terlin Smith, Jr. and his companion, Kristie Babineaux, of Breaux Bridge; her mother, Lerline Ann Broussard of Carencro; twenty-four grandchildren, Braedyn, Julien, Gracie, Alexia, Ava, Faylee, Keilyn, Jaylon, Channyn Jax, Lil Glenn, Ian, Dylan, Gavin, Isaac, Dylan, Jordan, Shawn, Katlyn, McKenzie, Christopher, Yvette, Alma, Breia, Saidid, Braylon and Aubry; two great grandchildren; one brother, Lyle Burleigh of Carencro; two sisters, Lana Burleigh and Leah Burleigh Fusilier and her husband, Dustin, all of Carencro; and her niece and nephew, Loni and Lex. She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth “KB” Burleigh; and one brother, Lane Burleigh. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday and will be extended after the service until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to The Carpenter House, her oncologist, Dr. Deborah Johnson and Dr. Constance Cole, to her sister, Lana Burleigh for her excellent care and Rosella Lenormand.
