LaQuanda Shiann Newell, 21 of Carbondale, passed away 3:45 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. LaQuanda worked as a cashier for Taco Bell in Carbondale. LaQuanda was born December 19, 1996 in Carbondale, IL to LaShawn Andres Newell and Rebecca Ann Wade.

Newell of Carbondale; sisters, Nikiah Adell Newell, Nevaeh Newell, Iyona Newell, Bella Newell; brother, Lashawn Andres Newell, Jr; step brother, Malik Davis; fiancé’, Luis Malagahernandez; Laquanda was blessed to have two fathers, including Darral Davis, who helped raise her; grandfather, Ray Wade of Herrin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Elijah Newell; grandmothers, Yvonne Wade, Jocelyn Newell. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Faulkenberry officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Herrin City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested and may be made to Rebecca Wade to assist with final expenses.
