Larry Allen Kauffman passed away August 30, 2018 at University Hospital in Ashland, Ohio. He was born on April 11, 1941 in Wooster, Wayne County, Ohio and was the son of Cloyd A. and Pauline (Sours) Kauffman and was a resident of Brookwood at Brethren Care Village. Larry was a 1960 graduate of Ashland High School and a 2004 retiree of F.E. Myers (Pentair).

He was an avid fan of UCLA football and men’s basketball, the LA Dodgers. He enjoyed reading and collecting anything to do with Sherlock Holmes and playing his organ. He is survived by his sister, Deanna Applegate; his niece, Marleen Applegate both of Bailey Lakes; and his aunt, Violet Back of rural Ashland.

He is also survived by his step sister, Peggy Parris of Houston, Texas; step sister in-law, Carolyn Baldwin of Ada, Iowa; as well as several cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline in 1979; his father, Cloyd in 2012; his step- mother, Edith Baldwin Kauffman in 2006; along with his step- brother, Roger Baldwin. Graveside Services will be held at Ashland Cemetery on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Dean Pierce officiating.

Heyl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to the Ashland County Cat Sanctuary P.O. Box 136 Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to Brethren Care Village 2000 Center St. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
