Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Larry E. Morgan, passed from this life following a long and courageous battle on April 24, 2018, in Mesa, AZ. He was born August 23, 1938 in Preston, Idaho, to Ralph Morgan and Maxine Talbot. Larry was a great athlete and excelled at football, basketball, and baseball while at Cypress High School, graduating in 1956.

Later that same year, he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Davis, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, with whom he shared more than 61 years of marriage. Larry spent countless years traveling the country playing semi-pro fastpitch softball and is a member of the Utah Fastpitch Hall of Fame. He played competitive softball until the age of 74.

Larry also earned his 5th degree black belt in jujitsu and started his own studio. He also coached girls’ softball at West Jordan High School and little league football, baseball, and basketball throughout the valley. Larry and his wife relocated to Mesa, AZ, in 1998.

He is survived by his wife (Betty), daughter (Cindy & Mike Foster), and son (Steve & Wendy Morgan), 3 brothers (Bob, Scott and Craig Talbot) and a sister (Kristie Steadman), 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a son (Larry), and 2 brothers (Stephen Morgan and Paul Talbot). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, at 11 am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah, with viewings Friday 6-8 pm and Saturday one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at the West Jordan Cemetery.
