Our angel mother passed through the veil April 22, 2018. Born June 12, 1929 in Salt Lake City to Maude and Leland Savage. She married Dewey Gerome Black February 6, 1952 in Aiken, So.

Carolina. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 6 children.

Her husband Dewey preceded her in death February 7, 2010. Lyla was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She did as Brigham Young taught: teaching her children correct principles and letting them govern themselves.

Lyla loved attending the temple and doing genealogy work. She was active in the LDS Church holding many teaching and leadership positions including Stake Primary President. She loved to learn and was an avid reader and BYU fan.

She is survived be her 6 children: Deborah (George), Craig (Connie), Bruce (Allison), Michelle (Randall), Kimberlee (Doug), Tara (Brett), and 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons. We love our mom and look forward to being with her and dad again as an eternal family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Crescent 30th Ward, 89 E. 11000 South, Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 S. 700 E., Draper, Utah and 1 hour prior to the service, at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
