Johnson City, Tennessee Larry Eugene Marsingill, 68, of Johnson City, Tennessee was born January 19, 1951 and passed away on February 10, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Larry served two years in the United States Army where he completed a tour of duty in Germany. Upon his release from the Army, Larry worked as a coal miner with Westmoreland Coal Company and later began working in retail selling fruits and vegetables.

Larry owned and operated produce markets in Kingsport, Tennessee and surrounding areas until he retired. Larry graduated from Appalachia High School in 1970 where he played football and was known by teammates as “Monk”. Larry was a member of Cornerstone Church in Johnson City, Tennessee, loved his family, and enjoyed fishing and sports.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Fultz Marsingill; father, Lusus Clinton Marsingill, Sr.; and brother, Lusus Clinton Marsingill, Jr. Larry is survived by his daughter, Heather Marsingill Crouse of Stickleyville, VA; son, Brian Elgie Marsingill of Harlan, KY; grandson, Jacob Bradley Crouse of Stickleyville, VA; sisters, Patricia Marsingill Price of Church Hill, TN, Kay Dockery Gilliam of Rockford, TN; brothers, Michael Marsingill of Wise, VA, Delmar Marsingill of Kingsport, TN, Jerome Marsingill of Pound, VA; a host of extended family and some very special friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home with services beginning at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Roy Lee Webb.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 10:45 am Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Mt. Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
