Larry’s Obituary Larry Wayne Heath, 80, of Independence, died Friday, February 8, 2019, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. He was born on June 26, 1938, in Independence, Missouri, a son of Cecil Harris and Helen Lucille (Ashcraft) Heath. He came to know Jesus as his Savior in his early 20’s.

He earned his right to be an Eagle Scout and he served his country honorably in the United States Army. He will be remembered as a father, grandfather and friend who loved to be around people. He enjoyed getting together for the holidays with his family and especially playing games with them when the opportunity arose.

There are many unique memories that can be shared about Larry that will forever be cherished and passed down to the next generation. He is survived by two daughters, Martina Edwards and her husband Gene Jr. of Richland and Teresa Morgans and her husband Gary of Independence; his less than perfect extra cool son, Stanley Heath of Independence; two sisters, Beverly Heath of the State of Maryland and Terrie Taraba of the State of Oregon; ten grandchildren, Daniel, Jeremy, and Derek Edwards, Krista Giffen, Tiffany Ellis, Cassee Giffen, Marissa Giffen, Curtis Giffen, Nathanael Morgans, and Jayden Heath; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Emmanuel, Elliahna, and Christian, and another on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Helen Heath, three brothers, Ray Heath, Stanley Clay Heath, and David Reid, a grandson, Joshua Edwards, and a nephew, David Krawetzki.

Committal services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, with Rev. Gary Morgans officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the family’s choice in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.
