Laura A. Draper, 93, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 6:56 p.m., at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab in Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, from noon to 1:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL.

Father Daniel Willenborg, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Draper was born on February 21, 1925, in East Fultonham, Ohio, to the late John T. & Juanita (Napier) Weller.

She was a graduate of High School in Zanesville, Ohio and received her BS RN from Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Dr. Clifford W. Draper, on August 17, 1946, in Covington, KY. He preceded in death on December 24, 2013.

Mrs. Draper had worked as a R.N. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL and St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL. She then worked in Home Health Care, which she loved. Her whole life was spent in care giving.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL; Red Cross, which she taught Red Cross swimming lessons for 32 years and loved all water sports; Hillsboro Area Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, where she was named Women of the Year in 1997; Long time member of Hillsboro Country Club in Hillsboro, IL where she loved to golf; she also loved to do artistic work, refinish and recane furniture and she was a lover of animals and supported ASPCA. Mrs. Draper has lived in the Hillsboro, IL area since 1948. Mrs. Draper is survived by two children, Bill (wife, Kim) Draper of Hillsboro, IL & Mary Draper (husband, Bruno Valente) of Milford, MI and two grandsons, Jack Draper & Owen Draper, both of Hillsboro, IL.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by on brother, James Weller. Memorials are suggested to PAWS Care.
