Laura F. Stapleton, 98, of Connersville passed away Wednesday morning, October 31, 2018 at Heritage House of Connersville. She was born December 3, 1919 in Folks Creek, in Carter County, Kentucky, one of eight children of Charles and Lucy Richmond McCormick. In 1939, she was married in Carter County to Frank Stapleton.

Mr. Stapleton passed away in May of 1994. Laura was a devoted homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Also, she loved her vegetable garden in the summer and enjoyed canning.

Survivors include a daughter, Alicia “Lisa” Steele; four sons, Larry Stapleton, Jerry Stapleton, Michael (Carol) Stapleton and Timothy Stapleton; eight grandchildren. Patrick (Billie-Jo) Earlywine, Emma Isbell, Rebekah Steele, Tina Rose, Scott Schalk, Toni (Tim) Miller, Tami (Hernando) Roca and Joseph Schalk; fourteen great-grandchildren; Audrey Isbell, Lauren (Brice) Fansler, Ellen Isbell, Dean Jennings, Tyler Rose, Nick Rose, Andrew Rose, Jenni (Mitchell) Weaver, Brittney (Hunter) Kenney, Jake Miller, Courtney Miller, Megan Miller, Taylor Schalk and Alexis Schalk; six great-great grandchildren, Zerek, Noah, Dylan, Nora, Hallie and Miranda; she is blessed with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lucy Earlywine; three sisters, Lena, Lola and Roberta; four brothers, John, Jake, Claude and Sam.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Reverend Robert E. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until 1 PM on Monday.
