Mrs. Laura Irene Harris, age 89 of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 9:57 PM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY surrounded by loved ones. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Old Liberty General Baptist Church in Warren Co., KY.

with burial to follow in the Whites Chapel Church Cemetery in Drake, KY. Irene was born March 10, 1929 in Warren Co., KY. to the late James Owens and the late Pauline Pirtle Owens.

A daughter Elizabeth, a granddaughter Dottie, 2 brothers Frank and Bruce Owens and 2 sisters Annie Ruth Dalton and Helen Koeber, preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 daughters Jannie Marie Isenberg (Eldon) and Barbara Nell Harris both of Bowling Green, KY, 2 sons Johnny David Harris (Anita) and Joe Henry Harris both of Bowling Green, KY, 2 sisters Evelyn Brashear of Bowling Green, KY and Ethel Cantrell of Franklin, KY. , grandchildren Laura Ma’Shea, Blake, Meagan, Jonathon, Joseph, Justin, Jermey, Lori, Randy, Mary, Marty and Billy and 2 step grandchildren Sabrina and Chris and several great grandchildren.

Irene was a member of the Old Liberty General Baptist Church. Her favorite things to do was to attend church, gospel singings and spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading books brought to her by the Goodnight Library Bookmobile Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Gilbert Funeral Home.

Visitation will also be held Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Old Liberty General Baptist Church. No visitation is scheduled for Sunday at funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Goodnight Memorial Library for the book mobile program.
