Meraloyd (Edmonson) Stansberry, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Meraloyd was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 25, 1927 to the late James Arzie and Mollie Webb (Williams) Edmonson. She retired from City- County Government after 27 and one half years of service.

She cherished the time spent with her three generations of grandchildren. Meraloyd traveled to Florida in the winter and took many trips to Barkley Lake and Kentucky Lake. Meraloyd is survived by her daughter, Jane Ann Wells (Ronald) of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-law, Edd Marie Stansberry of Evansville, IN; sister, Nettie Jane Mason formerly of Henderson, KY; brother, Larry Soloman Edmonson (Janet) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Shawn Brown (Jeff), Emily Fehrenbacher (Marc), Ashley Bateman (Jeremie), Sara Knea (Keith), and Heather Kough (Tom); great-grandchildren, Madison Brown (Neal Reidford), Nickolas Brown, Hannah, Sophia, and Aiden Fehrenbacher, Parker and Jude Bateman, Elizabeth, Joshua, and Joseph Knea, Eli and Jake Kough; great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Harper Reidford.

Meraloyd was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard “Woody” Stansberry; and a son in 2011, Howard Riley Stansberry. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2451 Stringtown Rd. , Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor David Wiist officiating.

Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave. , and again from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center, 525 Bentee Wes Ct. , Evansville, IN 47715. The family would like to thank the staff of Walnut Creek and Kindred Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
