Helen L. (Bilderback) Johnston Hardy, 90, of Evansville, Indiana, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Helen was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 9, 1928 to the late Levi Thomas and Elizabeth (Coleman) Bilderback. She retired from Whirlpool.

Helen was of the Baptist faith, and in her younger years held bible studies in her home. She loved fishing and going to the casinos. Helen was a great cook and was known for her dumplings.

She made all the holidays special. Helen… Read More » was so proud of the five generations in her family and was proud of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren that gave her so much joy. Helen is survived by her son, Steve Johnston (Debbie) of Newburgh, IN; daughters, Linda Adcock and Debra Ash (Mark) both of Evansville, IN; sister, Norma Beal of Warrenton, IN; grandchildren, Jimmy Majors (Tracy), Amanda Talarzyk, and Steven Johnston; great-grandchildren, Danny Majors, Michael Majors, Ottoma Welborn, Tyler Talarzyk, and Alex Talarzyk; great-great-grandchildren, Drayven Majors and Zaynder Majors; nieces and nephews; special honorary daughter, Donna Craig of Evansville, IN.

Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bob” Johnston; second husband, Maurice Hardy; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Rick Riley officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Reveal, 1042 E. Boonville-New Harmony Rd.
