Laurianne C. Caron, 95, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough. She was born on July 29, 1922 to Anselm and Rose (Sevigny) Bernier in Biddeford. She was educated in local schools.

In 1945, she married the love of her life, Roger E. Caron at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. They shared 46 years together until his death in 1991. She started work at New England Shipping Corporation on the Liberty Ships in South Portland.

She then went on to Kesslen Shoe in Kennebunk as a fancy stitcher. After that, she went on to be a machinist at Saco Defense until her retirement in 1977. She was an incredible singer.

She started singing at a very young age on stages around Biddeford, debuting at the City Theater. The Matson family brought her up to Portland to get a singing contract in New York but she was too homesick to leave her family and decided to sing locally. She sang with the Painchaud Band and with the big bands in Old Orchard Beach.

After she married Roger she stopped singing professional but still sang for her family, especially at family events. She loved her family above all else. She was also a member of the 50+ Club.

She is preceded in death by all of her siblings, 1 brother and 7 sisters. Laurianne is survived by: 4 children: Carmen Caron of Biddeford Ben Caron and his wife Ellie Rolnick of Biddeford Michael Caron and his wife Louise of Saco Pamela Gaudette and her husband Richard of Biddeford 6 grandchildren: Celeste Giannelli, Michael Gaudette, Jessica Brown, Sarah Berthiaume, Nate Caron and Alex Caron 6 great grandchildren: Jacob Giannelli, Julia Giannelli, Mariah Vanega, Vinny Brown, Zachary Brown and Benjamin Gaudette 2 brother-in-laws: Real and Patrick Caron, both of Biddeford 1 sister-in-law: Marion Caron of Saugus, MA And many nieces and nephews Visiting Hours will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laurianne’s name may be made to Hospice of Southerrn Maine, 180 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074, or made online at www. hospiceofsouthernmaine.org/give.
