Obituary for Lawrence “Larry” Cain Lawrence “Larry” Cain (1928-2018) CEDAR FALLS – Lawrence “Larry” Cain, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Western Home Communities Windemere. He was born July 19, 1928 in Denver, Iowa, son of Earl and Mae (Gaffney) Cain. He married Phyllis Arnaman and they later divorced.

On December 28, 1973, he married Shirley Bolin Garrison in Waterloo. He graduated from East High School in Waterloo and served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He retired from the Black Hawk County Road Department, and then volunteered at Allen Memorial Hospital.

Survived by: his wife of Cedar Falls; a son, Dennis (Tammy) Cain of New Hampton; a daughter-in-law, Karen Cain of Janesville, WI; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a son, Larry Dean Cain; two sisters, Donna Lammers and Mildred Harrison; one brother, Gene Cain; and one grandchild, Travis Cain. Per Larry’s wishes, private family services will be held.
