Obituary for William LeRoy Bell CEDAR FALLS-William “Billy” LeRoy Bell, 82, of Nashua, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Monday, May 14, 2018, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born April 22, 1936 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Eldred and Grace (Steward) Bell. On April 13, 1963, he married Angie Snyder in Cedar Falls.

They later divorced. On June 18, 2005, he married Julie Lange Ostrem in Cedar Falls. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1954 and later served in the United States Army.

He was employed with the Cedar Falls Fire Department for 30 years, retiring in 1991 as Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member of the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49, serving as past Commander and later Chaplain on both the local and state levels. Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Marija-Lisa (Eric) Musselman of Cedar Rapids, and Manette Anderson of Cedar Falls; a step-daughter Melissa (Don) Collins of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Ryan Musselman of Richmond, VA, Aliya and Erin Musselman of Cedar Rapids, Tyler Anderson of Britt, and Kyle Collins of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Dolores “Dee” Voorhees of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Maralee (Max) Lowcock and three grandchildren, Tanner, Macy and Morgan Anderson. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18 at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be Thursday, May 17 from 4-8pm at Richardson Funeral Service.

Private family interment with honors provided by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 and Iowa Army National Guard at Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.
