Lawrence’s Obituary Lawrence Jessie Pellegrin, Sr., 91, died peacefully on Saturday, January 5, 2019. He was a native and proud resident of Chauvin, Louisiana Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by his three children, Debbie Hubbard and husband Neal, Jay Pellegrin and wife Alisha, and Jesslyn Ledet and husband Craig; grandchildren, Aimee Toups, Summer Pellegrin, Christian Ledet, Rebecca Ledet, and Chloe Pellegrin; great grandchildren, Jamie Hubbard and Eli Pellegrin; siblings, Claude Pellegrin, Carol LeBoeuf, JoAnn Donovan, Merlin Pellegrin, Clark Pellegrin, and Dean Pellegrin. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Dorothy Welch Pellegrin; his parents, Willis and Jessie Dupre Pellegrin; and sister, Gale Rhodes. A proud World War II veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Naval Service and Coast Guard.

He was a fifth degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, a member of the United Veterans League, VFW, and the American Legion. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jessie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He loved his family, his country, cooking, and dancing. His legacy will be the lessons of hard work and service he taught through helping others and making a difference in the community. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pellegrin family.
