Obituary for Leon Ira Cate Leon I. Cate, 66, son of Myrtle and Leon Cate, passed away unexpectedly November 1, 2018 leaving his loving wife Anita, daughters Jennifer & Jessica, sons Joe & Bobby, grandchildren Sean & Sofia, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and many nieces, nephews & cousins. His Parents and 2 brothers are pre-deceased. Leon’s interests include cars, travel, making funny jokes & “the Blues” – sitting in with many local musicians sharing his talent and love of music with friends and fans.

His family however, was the light of his life. He was a proud Army Veteran who told great stories of being part of the Airborne Special Forces (Specialist Five). Post Army, his career path was in the field of Software Development.

He would drive hours to help anyone in need and always went above and beyond because he had a huge heart. He was the True Definition of always being there with a helping hand. We’ve lost a beloved member of our family.

Those who loved him will keep his memory alive as we know we are blessed to have known him. He will be watching over us, for sure, in Heaven. A private family service is being arranged.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local School in Leon’s name as supporting education was important to him.
