Obituary for Leonard Davis Leonard J. Davis, age 75, of Henderson, KY, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, California. In addition to his parents, Samuel and Margaret Davis, Leonard was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Sylvia Davis, his second wife, Janice Davis, his sisters, Joanne Durbin and Connie Brockett, and his brothers, Robert Davis and Jr Davis. Leonard served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 30 years.

His career is distinguished, and his decorations are extensive. Leonard’s awards include: Meritorious Service Award, Air Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Antarctica Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, NCO PME Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Air Service Medal/Honor Class, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm Device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Chief Air Crew Badge. Leonard is survived by his “sweet lady wife” Jeannette Davis of Henderson, KY, daughters Sandra Davis of Florida and Sherry Crew (Russell) of Georgia, sons Duane Davis and Jerome Wood (Amber) of California, sister Brenda Fambrough of Florida, brothers James H. Davis and Jerry L. Davis (Darlene) both of Kentucky, grandchildren: Serina Nero, Rachel Crew, Sara Crew, Alyssa Kelsey, Cassidy Kelsey, William Hight, Russell Crew III, Leonard Blake Davis, Justin Taliento, Carson Wood, Makenna Wood, and Jameson Wood, great-grandchildren Ayzia and Jalen Nero.

Also surviving Leonard are many nieces and nephews; some are: Samantha Brockett and her daughter, Ana; Sabrina Major and her sons Wesley, Chandler, Davis, and Brock; Kelly Burdick and her daughter, Abby; Nichole Davis, and Beth Davis. Relatives and friends are invited to Leonard’s Life Celebration from 12:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and again on Friday starting at 9:00 a.m. at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. September 28, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Keith Griffin officiating.

Burial will follow at Corydon Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40. In lieu of flowers, Leonard’s family requests that you donate to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.
