Life Reflections Leonard Craig Jackson was born June 30th, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri; to the union of Carnell and Lois Jackson, the fourth of six children. Craig was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri school district. He attended Sanford B. Ladd elementary, Central Junior, and graduated from Central Senior high school with the class of 1972.

He furthered his education at Penn Valley Community College and graduated from U.M.K.C with a Bachler’s degree in Communications. He married Sherry Anderson, and to this union they had 3 children Arthur Lee; Myla and L’Craig. This union was later dissolved.

He is also the father of Renita and Alphonso. Later he married Melbra Lewis in December 1993 and to this union he was blessed to “blend” five additional children; Kia, Mia, Omar; Akba & Shaliece Craig has been employed by KSHB television station, American Cable TV, M.T. Production (Craig was known to be one of the best videographers in the business), KC Drive Away and most recently Odessa Auto Auction until his health failed. Craig accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist church.

He later rededicated his life to Christ and joined Trinity AME church under the tutelage of Reverend Steven Cousin. Craig had a love for chess, horse-back riding, the game of Jeopardy and dancing. He was a “dancing machine”; known for being one of the best two steppers in Kansas City.

Craig was very charismatic, and he never met a stranger he would always greet you with his big warm smile; he loved to make people laugh and could brighten up any room with his presence. When attending family gatherings whether planned or impromptu upon arrival Craig would quickly walk through to let everyone know he was there. He will be greatly missed; everyone always wanted to know if Craig was coming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carnell and Lois Jackson; son, L Craig Jackson and daughter, Kia Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memories; His loving and devoted wife Melbra Jackson of Kansas City; his children; sons, Arthur Lee Anderson of Kansas City; Alphonso Nabors of Minneapolis MN; Omar Lewis of Kansas City, MO and Akba Lewis of Kansas City, KS. ; daughters, Myla Anderson of Glendale Arizona; Renita Ashley (Todd); Mia Lewis and Shaliece Lewis all of Kansas City, MO.

One brother, Stephen C. Jackson of Belton MO; five sisters, Grace Robinson (Willis); Phyllis Elliott; Deborah Manor; Denita Jones all of Kansas City, MO and Gina Strange of Raymore, MO. ; 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins too many to name, but he loved each and every one of them.
