Leonard attended Dallas Pubic Schools. He professed Christ at an early age where he attended Progressive Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by both parents, Franklin D. and Lois Woodson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: 3 brothers, Frank Penagraph, Bernie Woodson (Keria) and David Simpson; 2 sisters, Katie Penagraph (Carroll), Alicia Washington (John) all of Dallas, Texas; 3 uncles, Samuel Woodson of Houston, Texas, Odell Woodson (Patricia) and Danny Woodson of Marlin, Texas; 2 aunts, Ruthie Coleman of Houston, Texas, Rose Ann Nelson of Fort Worth, Texas; 5 nephews, Marcus, Bernie Jr., Xavier, Bernie III, David Jr.; 5 nieces, NaKisha, Jalisa, Askley, Ebony and Laqunda; 6 great nephews, 2 great nieces, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
