LeRoy Johnson, 65, passed away on May 14, 2019 at MUSC, after battling cancer. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Monumental Missionary Baptist Church. “Roy” as he was called by family and friends was born in Florence County to the late Rev.

Ernest and Edith Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillie Belle Frierson and a daughter, Julia Mouzon. He attended Florence County School.

He drove trucks, worked at La-Z-Boy and set mobile homes. He accepted Christ and joined Monumental Baptist Church where he attended until his health declined. He is joined in holy matrimony to Natalie Johnson.

He is also survived by his children Carlous Tinsley (Bonnie), Eric McAllister (Rosa), Angel Profit (William), Dannial Echols (Chris), Braxton Rogers (Alexandria), Marion Coe, IV and Dontavias Hughes; his siblings Dozier Dowdy and his wife, Emma Jean Ford (Roland), Ernest Johnson, Jr., Jacqulene and Ann Johnson; grandchildren, Jamal Wright, Ramona and Chequeta Johnson, Deja India Zion and Brittany Echols, Shakeylia, Shereka and Terricka, Darius, William and Kirsten and April Isreal and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law Russell Greene (Phyllis) and Allen Echols; sisters-in-law, Betty Hughes, Denise Edwards and Rosalind Greene (Ernest); special friends, Minnie Dockery and Alphonso Greene; aunt Essey McWhite; cousins, friends and also a host of nieces and nephews, including Tamara Ford and Roland Ford, Jr (Keisha). Special thanks to Safe Hope and Love and Agape Hospice and his caregivers.
