Graham Grimes, 81, of Zavalla will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Zavalla First Baptist Church with Dr. Jacob Fitzgerald and Pastor Stephen Forrest officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Concord Cemetery under the auspices of the Homer Order of the Eastern Star #938. Mrs. Grimes was born September 20, 1937 in th Concord Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Minnie Elizabeth (Boykin) and Thomas B. Graham, and died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Grimes was a lifetime resident of Zavalla. She retired from Angelina Home Health where she worked as a home care provider. Mrs. Grimes was a member of the Homer Order of the Eastern Star #938 for 64 years and was a member of Zavalla First Baptist Church.

She prayed a lifetime for a ticket to Heaven; now she is rejoicing with our Heavenly Father and celebrating His birthday. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Grimes Grubbs and husband John of Zavalla; son, J.O. Grimes, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Zavalla; grandchildren, John Grubbs, Timothy Grubbs, Brandy Grimes, Adam Grimes, Andy Grimes, Tammy Swann Solimine, Liz Ross, Cary Johnson, Matthew Grimes, and Brittany Tarkington; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vellia Collier, Jane Ryder, both of Zavalla, Rachel Smith and husband Welton of Huntington; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cordia and Stanley Neet, Jenova Henson, Betty and Joe Courtney, Lizzie and Ken Boykin, all of Saron; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.O. Grimes, Sr.; and son, Elton Grimes.

Pallbearers will be Matt Grimes, Lloyd Havard, Andy Grimes, Chad Murphy, John Grubbs and Tim Grubbs. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. Memories and condolences may be added at www.
