Lester’s Obituary Lester E. Landers Sr. (Leck), 87, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He was born on February 15, 1932, in Charleston, to the late Earl and Hazel Landers. Lester was a class of 1950 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School where he played baseball.

He served four years on the Franklin D. Roosevelt for the U.S. Navy. He retired after 42 years from West Virginia Paving. He was a devoted member of the Dunbar Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Phyllis Lewis and Lorraine Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Stella Landers; children, Sheila Harper and husband Roger of Culloden, Lester Landers Jr., and wife Kim of Dunbar, Rick Landers and wife Mary of Dunbar, and Terri Fisher and husband Pat of Charleston; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March, 21, at the West Virginia Chapel in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with Minister Gene Fredette officiating.

Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
