Eric’s Obituary Eric Devon Moss, 44, of Rand, passed away on March 10, 2019. He was a 1992 Dupont High School graduate where he was the Student Council President and honored for being selected to the All-State 1st Team in basketball and football. He attended Fort Union Military Academy and then went on to attend and play football for The Ohio State University.

He was a former athlete of the National Football League (NFL). Eric was a very loving and supportive person with a great smile and a special son to his mother. He will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine P. Moss-Davis; sister, Latisia M. Moss; brother, Randy G. Moss (Lydia G.). ; father, Richard Davis, Sr.; brother, Richard Davis, Jr.; daughter, Vanessa Smith-Moss; uncle, Melvin Davis: aunt, Wendy Davis; two nephews; seven nieces; one great-niece; close friend, Dante Ford; friends from all over, especially the Rand community. A special thank you to the Emergency Room staff of CAMC General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at Levi Missionary Baptist Church, Charleston, with the Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. The “Gentle Giant” will be truly missed.
