Funeral services for Lila Mae Goodrich, 86, of Alanson, will be held on Thursday, July 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. Visitation is open to family and friends on Thursday morning at 10:00. Pastor Dan Davis of New Life Pentecostal Church in Alanson will officiate the ceremony and graveside service at Alanson Cemetery.

Lila was surrounded by family in her home while she talked with Jesus and entered into eternal rest, on Friday, July 20th, 2018. She was born in Petoskey on Oct 12, 1931, attended St Francis Xavier and graduated from Petoskey High School. On Aug 18, 1952 she married George Edward Goodrich and moved to Alanson where they raised a family of nine children.

Lila loved her children and was considered a second mom for many. She had a smile for everyone she met and let her light shine for all who could see. She lived a Christian life and in her own words “she strived to make herself pleasing to God and paid witness when she saw the opportunity”.

Lila was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Alanson where she enjoyed singing praise. She loved to walk and was often seen stopping at neighbors while out and about with her dog Kiku. She was known for countless acts of kindness, including her beautiful scripture quilts, sewn entirely by hand for residents of area nursing facilities.

She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her sister Beatrice Wolf; Eight Children, Jerry (Rachel) Goodrich, Barb (Mike) Sherwood, Vicki (Sarkas) Najarian, Ken (Sheryl) Goodrich, Deno Goodrich, Joan (Al) Green, Margie (Dave) Golovich, Mary (Don) Howell, her Pomeranian dog, Kiku, 27 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her husband, George Edward Goodrich; her parents, Victor and Helen Ulrich; her siblings, Pat Stark, Ed Ulrich, Winnie Eaton, Evelyn Wolf, Velma Benson, Tom Ulrich; her son Bob Goodrich.

Family suggests any memorial contributions be directed to New Life Pentecostal Church in Alanson.
