Obituary for Linda M. Sheppard Rye Beach – Linda M. Sheppard, 68, a long-time resident of Rye Beach, NH died Friday, November 9, 2018 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Apopka, FL December 23, 1949 the daughter of the late Betty (Reiners) Sheppard Smith and Major Robert Smith. Linda graduated from Portsmouth High School with the Class of 1967 and received her Associate degree from Stratford College at Danville, Virginia and attended the University of Rhode Island.

She was employed by the NH Department of Employment Security for many years as a Certifying Officer. Her last employment was as Re Center Coordinator at the Portsmouth NH Works office. Linda retired in 2004 with 25 years of service.

She has served as a Rye Beach Precinct Commissioner since 2013. Linda enjoyed gardening, crafts, jigsaw puzzles, planting thousands of daffodils, playing cribbage, and motorcycle rides. Linda was known for her steel trap memory.

She believed in hard work, perseverance, and productivity. Linda was respected and loved, and will be missed by those who knew her. She leaves many dear friends and her best feline friend Magic.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the Central Cemetery, Rye. Friends are respectfully invited. Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
