Linda Sue Fletcher, age 75, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2019 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following an extended illness. Linda was born in Carter County, Tennessee to the late Robert and Myrtle Simerly Hinkle. In addition to her parents to was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Fletcher and Wayne Fletcher; two brothers, Robert Hinkle Jr. and Ron Hinkle; and two sisters, Shirley Rugg and Royalene Fletcher.

Linda loved tending her flowers, cooking and taking care of her family. She was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Denvis Fletcher, of the home; two sons, Dave Hinkle and wife Gretchen, of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Danny Fletcher and wife, Angie, of Butler, Tennessee; one daughter, Susie Allen, of Elizabethton, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters; Helen Hyder and June Merritt.

The family will hold a memorial service to honor the life of Linda at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Lynn Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Wilson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
