Linda Jane “Woody” Woodard age 74, of Richlands, Virginia was called home to a better place on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in a Knoxville, Tennessee hospital following a brief illness. Woody was born in Lee County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ann Mae Woodard. She was a graduate of Pennington Gap High School and then attended nursing school.

She worked at Clinch Valley Hospital for 36 years before retiring. Woody received several awards and certifications in nursing over the years. She loved to socialize and never knew a stranger.

She enjoyed traveling and going to the lake with her family. Her laughter and mischievous smile were contagious, she always tried to find the good in every situation. She attended the Bible Way Church in Raven and had lived most of her life in the area.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Kill and special mother, Jenny Stilwell. Those who remain to carry on her wonderful spirit are her; Son, Brian Keith Stilwell and wife, Huberta of Doran, VA Special friends, Jack and Charlotte Fuller of Richlands, VA Brother, John Woodard of Pennington Gap, VA Grandson, Brian Michael Allen Stilwell of Doran, VA The family will be honoring Woody’s wishes, her funeral service will be private. The family thanks all who have prayed for her, and those who took the time to call about her or come be with her in the end.
