Obituary for Lloyd Gregory Chapman Sr. Lloyd “Greg” Gregory Chapman, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, April 6, 2018. Beloved husband of Mary “Cathy” Billiot Chapman. Dad of Jennifer Chapman, Lloyd “Chip” Chapman, Jr. (Robin), and Joshua “Josh” Chapman.
Grandpa of Ethan Chapman, Ava Chapman, Jadea Lynn Tate, Connor Chapman, and the late Emma Rose Chapman. Son of Tomi Huftstetler Chapman and the late Michael Chapman. Brother of Shelly Sullivan (Lanier) and David Chapman.
Son in law of Estella Billiot Melancon and the late Chief John Billiot. Brother in law of Jeanne Vinet, Werner Huetwohl, and late Karen Huetwohl. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Age 58 years, a native of Greenville, SC and resident of Westwego, LA. He was a retired Sergeant for Westwego Police Department. He enjoyed teaching children about the D.A.R.E.
program, and was a School Re Officer, Firearms Instructor, LA Peace Officers Association, lifelong member of Westwego Volunteer Fire Department, Assistant Scout Master for Troop 18, and member of the online gaming RATTPACK. He served the City of Westwego with courage and devotion. Special thanks to the West Jefferson ICU Staff for their care, and the outpouring of love from the community.
Relatives and Friends of the Family, also members of the Westwego Police and Fire Departments, Staff of Pitre and Worly, and community members whose lives he touched, are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4 PM until Funeral Service time at 6 PM. Visitation will resume Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 12 PM until closing prayers at 6 PM. Interment will be private.
