Obituary for Lois Marchant Lois Marchant, 97, of Ripon, died on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Prairie Place Residence Care in Ripon. She was born on July 21, 1920, in Mackford Prairie, Wisconsin, the daughter of Walter and Anna Sievert Hare. She graduated from Brandon High School, Class of 1938.

On August 28, 1943, she married Bruce T. Marchant, in Rosendale, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2015. Lois was a very hard worker.

At 15, she had her first job working for room & board for a dentist in Brandon, caring for children he and his wife had. She later moved to Lamartine and worked for the Philiotros family, where her knowledge in cooking and cleaning grew. When WWII broke out, she went to work at Rueping Leather Company.

After her marriage to Bruce, they raised their children on the family farm. Lois enjoyed dancing, golf, bowling, playing cards and was a good athlete. She is survived by her children: Wesley Marchant of Rosendale, David (Carol) Marchant of Rosendale and Marilyn Schumacher of Madison; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters and her daughter-in-law Judy Marchant. VISITATION: Friends may call on Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ, 204 West Division Street, Rosendale, WI. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ, with Rev.
