Obituary for Lois Sciota Whitaker Dale Princeton, WV – Lois Whitaker Dale, 88, of Princeton, WV, died Wednesday July 18, 2018 at her home. Born March 31, 1930 in Avondale, WV, she was a daughter of the late William Mathias Whitaker and Myrtle Rushbrooke Whitaker. Mrs. Dale was a lifelong resident of the area, a member of The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest in Princeton and employed by Belk for 25 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana R. Dale; daughter, Terry Lee Dale; grandson, Christopher Dana Dale; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include her children, Dana (Sonny) Dale and wife Judy, Vickie Cline and husband J.D., Jackie Dale, Debbie Dale, Stormy Dale and Ginger Crews and husband Butch; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday July 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gerald Ward and Pastor Don Morgan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Following the service, burial will be at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of The Heavenly Rest, 1207 Mercer Street, Princeton, WV 24740 or Those Who Served War Museum, 1500 W. Main Street, Princeton, WV 24740.
