Lonnie “Granny Peanut” Dixon Gibson, 81, of Hallie passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Lonnie was the daughter of the late Hiram and Eva Eldridge Dixon. She was the widow of Edward Gibson.

Surviving is 1 daughter: Zoni (Glen) Hampton of Redstar; 1 son: Ralph Shuffler of Whitesburg; son-in-law: Gary Rogers of Hallie; 2 brothers: Dan Dixon and Cydis Dixon both of Hallie; 4 sisters: Bonnie Bentley of Neon, Freda Trent of Hallie, Lania Trent of Daisy, and Patsy Hamilton of Viper; grandchildren: Fred (Cat) Jones of Jeremiah, Rachel (Adam) Phillips of Pound, Virginia, Johnny (Tamara) Eldridge of Jeremieh, Jonathon (Jess) Eldridge of Jeremiah; Nicole (Randall) Roberson of Blackey, Janet (Carter) Rider; great grandchildren: Kadence Whitaker, Keegan Jones, Gunner Jones, Cecilia Jones, Jayden Watkins, Abby Church, Riley Thomas, Caleb Edward Eldridge, Chloe Eldridge, Gabby Eldridge, Hila Amburgey, Zander Eldridge, Logan Shuffler, Braxton Shuffler, Haley Shuffler, Ethan Eldridge, Gabe Roberson, and Haley Rider. Lonnie was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Venisha Rogers; 1 brother: Shelby Dixon. Lonnie attended Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church and Faith Mission Baptist Church.

She loved fishing, gardening, riding 4 wheelers, hunting, church family, and most of all her and Paw love the Lord. She was a great cook and helped all of us raise our children. Funeral: 12:30 O’clock P.M. Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Amburgey and Jeff Slone officiating.

Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Gibson Family Cemetery at Hallie, Kentucky.
