Lorene Owens January 12, 1918 – February 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Lorene Owens, daughter of the late James Henry Shipman and Mary Josephine (Glenn) Shipman was born January 12, 1918 in Sumach, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the age of 101 years, 1 month and 10 days. Lorene married John S. (Snooks) Owens, Jr. on July 3, 1938 in Piggott, Arkansas. John preceded her in death.

Survivors include: One son: William Hardy (Bill) Owens and wife Carolyn of Villa Ridge, Missouri One daughter: Mary Ann Williams and husband James Adlie of Kennett, Missouri Five grandchildren and Eight great grandchildren. Three sisters-in-law: Peggy Shipman of Rector, Arkansas Ada McHaney of Kennett, Missouri Yoneko (Tammy) McHaney of Corpus Christi, Texas. Lorene was of Kennett, Missouri and a member of the Sumach Methodist Church.

Lorene was preceded in death by seven brothers: Marlin, Cliff, Clinton (Shorty), Gene, John, J.C. and James (Pat) Shipman and three sisters: Effie Pearson, Ruby Stacey and Bonnie Brashers. Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM Monday, February 25, 2019 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Graveside Services will be 12:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri.
