Obituary for Loretta Jean Morton Loretta Jean Sims-Morton 77, of Fort Gibson peacefully passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Tahlequah with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her husband, Bill Morton and extensive family and friends. Loretta was loved by everyone.

Loretta was a healer, teacher, advocate for the community and champion of the underdog. She received her Masters in Business and Bachelors in Physical Education. She taught from 1961-1995 in Oklahoma and Missouri.

Loretta was married to Gary Sims in 1959 until his passing in April 1992. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Loretta’s name to Cherokee Nation Services Elder Care 1387 West 4th St Tahlequah, OK 74464. A memorial service celebrating Loretta’s life will be 11:00AM Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in the Fort Gibson First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Blankenship and Pastor Don Reed officiating.
