Louis Edward Derlinga “Louie,” age 55, born into eternal life on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Louie is survived by his loving sister, Terri Derlinga; nieces and nephew, Becky, Kacey (Christianna) and Danielle Derlinga; uncle, Butch (Sharon) Gersich; aunt, Louise Gersich; numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Judith (nee Gersich) Derlinga; brother, David Derlinga (2018); and uncle, Joseph Gersich.

Louie Derlinga, a well-known friend around the Joliet/ Rockdale area. He graduated from Joliet Central High School class of 1984. Louie was a former member of the Holy Cross choir and a devout Catholic, traveling to many different churches for mass.

Louie enjoyed bowling and basketball tournaments with KSKJ (St. Francis #29 member), loved playing bingo, enjoyed all the good times at the river, polka music, gambling, partying at St. Joseph Park and lunches and dinner with family and friends. He was a resident of Cornerstone for most of his life and a dedicated staff member of Tezak Funeral Home. He will be dearly missed by countless friends that he made throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, donation in Louis’ name to Cornerstone or the family would be appreciated. A celebration of Louie’s life will begin on Monday, July 30, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Cross Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
