Louis “Louie” Meine 89 of Santa Maria passed away on July 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He has been struggling with the loss of his vision and complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born September 23, 1928 in New Orleans LA he left home at age 17 looking for better opportunities in California and settled in Los Angles.

He was drafted in 1950 served two years in the army. When he got out he returned to Los Angles where met Helen Garcia and in 1954 they got married. He… Read More » worked as a mechanic until 1963 when he got the opportunity to fulfill one of his lifelong dreams of going into business for himself.

He owned and operated Louie’s Transmission Shop In Visalia until he retired in 1995. He and Helen relocated to Orcutt in 1996 He leaves behind his wife of 64 years Helen, 4 daughters Mary Gail Meine Diane Meine Michele Ford and Lisa King and one son Mark Meine 4 grandchildren Will & Turner Nelson, Matthew & Christina Ford and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Louie was a devoted husband father and grandfather and a good friend to many.
