Louise Hoffeld Gahafer, 90, of Lexington, widow of William Neal Gahafer, died Monday, May 27, 2019 at Heritage Hall Healthcare Center in Lawrenceburg, KY. She was born in Anderson County on March 7, 1929, to the late Morris and Clara Johnson Hoffeld. She spent her days as a housewife and also volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and Cardinal Hill.

Louise is survived by three sons, David (Vickie) Gahafer, Lexington, Roland (Mary Ann) Gahafer, Charleston, SC, Stephen (Shannon) Gahafer, of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Lara Gahafer, of Lexington; sister, Betty (Viron) Stratton, Lawrenceburg; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey Gahafer, Drew (Emily) Gahafer, Ben (Katie) Gahafer, Claire Gahafer all of Lexington, Alex Gahafer and Madison Gahafer, both of Charleston, SC, Stephanie (Hayden) Young, Bowling Green, and Chad Gahafer, Louisville; four great-grandchildren, Traben, Zell Louise, Harper, and Remi Jo Gahafer, all of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Morris Gahafer, brothers, Jerry Hoffeld and Roland Roberts; niece, Beth Coleman; and nephew, Walter Hoffeld. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro.

George Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be her sons and grandsons. Memorial contributions are suggested to Open Hands Community Food Pantry, 1111 Industry Rd. , Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
