Louise J. Baum Age 88, of East Sparta, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. She was born July 6, 1929 in Marietta, OH, a daughter of the late Lewis and Goldie (Hockenberry) Padgett, and was an East Sparta area resident most of her life. Louise was a 1947 graduate of East Sparta High School.

She retired in 1989 from Aultman Hospital, after 20 years service, where she was an L.P.N. Louise was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church and the Independent Order of Foresters. She loved to play cards, especially Euchre, go to Las Vegas to gamble, and play Farkle with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Virgil enjoyed going dancing.

Besides her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Virgil C. Baum, on Oct. 5, 2010, and a brother, Bernard Padgitt. She is survived by one daughter and one son, Brenda Berardelli, and Randy (Jean) Baum, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Sat. at 10:30 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Ken Reinoehl officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
