Charles Frederick McDew, age 79, formerly of Massillon, Ohio was called home on April 3, 2018. He was born June 23, 1938 in Massillon, OH to the late James and Eva (Stephens) McDew. Mr. McDew resided in Saint Paul, MN, and will be remembered as a distinguished Civil Rights Activist and past Chairman of The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).

He was preceded in death by father James McDew; mother Eva McDew; brother Randy McDew, and sister Brenda McDew Robinson. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Eva (Dion) Goodman; brothers Mark and Eric McDew; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends and his partner, Beryl Gilfix. A homegoing celebration is planned for Saturday April 14th at 2pm at Massillon Washington High School, 1 Paul E Brown Drive Southeast, Massillon, OH.

Calling Hours will be held Friday April 13th from 3-6pm at Paquelet Funeral Home and from 12:45-2:00pm before the service.
