Obituary of Louise Lariccia Louise “Lu” Lariccia, passed away October 5, 2018, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 31, 1947 to Emil and Josephine (Stein) Wegner in Mulnern, Austria. Louise graduated from Youngstown State University with honors with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a major in education and a teaching certificate in High School English.

She earned a Master’s of Arts in Library Science from Kent State University. She was an accomplished professional who worked as a librarian at the Kent State Library. She then moved on to work as the Head Librarian for Goodyear Aerospace, Lorel Systems Group, Lockheed Martin Corporation, and the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

Louise loved and was devoted to her family. She loved and was a caregiver for her mother and mother-in-law for many years of their lives. She was a gourmet cook who also loved going out to eat.

She enjoyed the theatre, ballet, and was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, drawing, and photography. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Emil and Josephine (Stein) Wegner; her brother, Paul Wegner; and beloved niece, Alyssa Anne Clare.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Robert Lariccia; her brother, Joseph (Cathy) Wegner; her sister, Ingeborg (Albert) Clare; and sister-in-law, Carol (Dennis) McDonald as well as eight nephews and nieces, twenty-three great nephews and nieces, and two great-great nephews and nieces. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio. The family extends their appreciation to the entire staff of the Hospice of VNS for their loving, compassionate concern and care for Louise.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio 44224 on Saturday, October 13 at 10 AM, where friends may call from 8:30 AM until service time. Burial Belmont Park Cemetery.
