Obituary for Mabel Ann McDonald Mabel McDonald, age 96, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility with family at her side. Mabel was born October 11, 1921 in Clare County to Henry and Josephine (Dora) Wentworth. She was united in marriage to Raymond McDonald on January 3, 1937 in Covington, Kentucky with him predeceasing her on December 16, 1960.
Mabel worked many jobs after the death of her husband to support the family. Mabel is survived by her children: Dorothy (Charles) Angus of Midland, Charles (Phyllis) McDonald of Midland, Elizabeth Branigan of Shepherd, Angus McDonald of Rosebush, Alma Wentworth of Mt. Pleasant, Donald (Karen) McDonald of Saginaw Twp.
, Monica (Royce) Hooper of Rochester Hills, Mary (Dave) Brickner of Beal City; her daughter-in-law, Marian McDonald of Mt. Pleasant; 26 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Agnes Akers, Dorothy Germain, Fern White, Frank Wentworth, Leonard Wentworth, Gene Wentworth, Tom Wentworth and many nieces and nephews, and many others who thought of her as Grandma Mabel.
Mabel was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Josephine Wentworth; in-laws, John and Henrietta McDonald, son, John McDonald, son-in-laws, Dan Wentworth and Mike Branigan, grandsons, Joseph McDonald, Mark McDonald and David Brickner, brothers, Howard, Earl, Ed, Robert, Andrew and Clair Wentworth and her sister, Annabelle Wentworth. Special thanks to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility for the excellent care given to Mom during the last seven months of her life. She will be greatly missed by so many who she loved and who loved her so very much.
Visitation will take place at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 2 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary Service at 7 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at the Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Cecilia Site on Thursday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Ronald Wagner and Rev. Peter Nwokoye officiating.
