Mabel Brazil May 29, 1920 – February 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mabel Brazil, 98, of Bessemer, AL passed away February 19, 2019. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Bessemer, and current member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was the secretary of family owned Brazil Realty and Insurance Center.

Mabel was a member of Jeune Femmes Club, Literary Forum, Sprig and Twig Club, Altrusa and J.O.Y. Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo C. Brazil; her parents, Frederick Vanderford and Mrs. John Fields; her sisters, Mildred Padalino and Jeanne Arnold. Mabel is survived by her son, Richard (Pam) Brazil; her daughters, Jan McRee, Kathy (Steve) Jones and Nancy (Tommy) Burch; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended loving family and friends.

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with burial following at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pastor Alan Head and Pastor Sandy Felkins will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund.
