Obituary for Madge Marie Carpenter Madge Marie Lovin Carpenter, age 89, of Rogersville, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 15, 2018. She was saved at a young age and joined and became a member of Old Spruce Pine Missionary Baptist Church of Mooresburg, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Martha Lovin; son, Danny Carpenter; sisters, Zora Winstead, Gracie Carpenter, Clorcie Lovin, Mae Brooks, and Retha Brooks; brothers, Edgar “Doc” Lovin, Ernest Lovin, and Herbert Lovin.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Samsel and husband Henry; grandson who she loved very dearly, Johnny Samsel allof Rogersville; sister, Ruby Lovin; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Signature Health Care for the fine and loving care of their mother and grandmother. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.

The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Don Brewer and Rev. Bill Johnson officiating.

Special music will be provided by Robert and Joe Etta Mallory. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Lovin Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
