Obituary for Sylvia Mae Jude Sylvia M. Thornhill Jude, age 85, of Rogersville, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Eli and Ida Newsome Thornhill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cletis “Jack” Jude; son, Charley Jude, and Rushia Jude.

She was a member of Hickory Cove Baptist Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family She wanted everyone to know that she was saved and it was her prayer that her family would be able to rejoin her one day. Survivors include her children Dennis Smith and wife Margaret of New Castle, Va. , Curtis Smith and wife Gustie of Hatfield, KY, David Smith and wife Danita of Rogersville, Richard Jude of Rogersville, Robert Smith and wife Jennifer of Rogersville, Janice Day of Rogersville, Tamara Jude and fiance` Brady Blair of Rogersville; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Janice Bowen of Circleville, OH.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Tommy Seals officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent at www. christiansells.com.
