Mae Ruth Gheen August 02, 1925 – December 14, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists View/Sign Guest Book Mae Ruth McNabb Gheen, age 93, of Maurertown passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20th at Mt. Olive WPM, Inc. Church, 765 Pontzer Rd.

, Strasburg, VA 22657 with Rev. Lindsey Savage and Rev. Gene Garrison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas. Mrs. Gheen was born August 2, 1925 in Waynesville, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Mont and Myrtle Ann Hopkins McNabb. She was a member of Mt.

Olive WPM, Inc. Church, a homemaker and had worked in earlier years at Hot Shops, owned and drove a taxi, secretary and worked with her husband at Manassas Roofing and was the pastor’s wife at Needmore Pentecostal Church, Needmore, PA for 30 years. She was married to the late Rev. James William Gheen who died June 7, 2007.

Surviving are four children, James David Gheen and wife, Sherry of Portville, NY, Ruth Ann Peregory and husband, Bill of Front Royal, Larry A. Gheen of Maurertown and Geraldine Marie Fendley and husband, Samuel of Clear Spring, MD; twenty-three grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 70 plus great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Edward Gheen. Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Gheen, Daniel Peregory, Donald Gheen, Tyrone Gheen, Joel Peregory, Carl Fendley and Adam Gheen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Spanaugle, Jerry Lee Mills, Tom Hugill, Jim Gheen, Jeremy Clark and Stephen Spanaugle, II. The family will receive friends at the Mt. Olive WPM, Inc. Church on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to WPM, Inc. Church, P.O. Box 5, Maurertown, VA 22644.
