Obituary for Marcia Mitchell Alton Marcia Alton Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, May 7, 2018, Mrs. Marcia Mitchell Alton, 83, loving wife of 58 years to the late Garrett Wilson Alton. Mrs. Alton was a native of Chicago, IL. She lived in Greenwich, Connecticut where she worked at Putnum Trust Company for a number of years.

In 1980 she moved to Augusta where she was active in the PTA at Augusta Prep School and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Family members daughter: Betsy Alton; son: Garrett Alton; grandchildren: Jake Alton, Lillie Alton, Sumter Alton and Erik Alton; brother: David Mitchell; niece: Regan Mitchell; sister-in-law: Eleanor Sulston. ; cousins: James T. Wilson, Rosie Kay and Becky Guberman.

A memorial service will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the mausoleum in Westover Memorial Park with Fr. John Jenkins officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America: 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
