Obituary for Philip L. Taylor Philip L. Taylor Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, June 17, 2018, Mr. Philip Lewis Taylor, 67, at his daughter’s residence under the care of Encompass Hospice. Phil traveled most of his young life with his military family (parents and two brothers), but spent the majority of his adult life in Statesboro, Georgia; where he owned a successful small business for more than 30 years. He loved spending time with family at the lake, porch sitting at his beautiful mountain home in North Georgia, fishing, golf, UGA football and anything involving spending time with his 2 year-old grandson and namesake, Taylor McBride.

Family members include his daughter, Melonie (Dale) McBride; grandson, Taylor Patrick McBride, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Lynn Rountree Taylor; his parents, Aubrey Delbert and Olive Irene Taylor; his brothers, Michael Taylor and Jeff Taylor, and his brother-in-law and best friend, Herman Kenney. Friends and family are invited to a graveside memorial service on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404 with Rev.

Stewart Moody officiating. Mr. Taylor will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 515 Denmark Street, Statesboro, GA 30458 or the Hopequest Ministry Group, Inc., 875 Gettysburg Trail, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
