Obituary for Peggy Ann McCorkle Peggy Ann McCorkle Evans, GA- Mrs. Peggy Ann Wilson McCorkle passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born August 1, 1934 in Westminster, SC. She is survived by her son, Mike (Pam) McCorkle, daughter, Janet (Steve) Marlowe, and grandchildren, Megan Ashley Crow (Brian) of Asheville, NC, Jered Wells McCorkle of Austin, TX, Caleb Mathews Stovall of Evans, GA, and Mallory Elaine Marlowe of Nashville, TN.

Peggy also leaves behind a special daughter, Teresa Knox Metzler, daughter-in-law, Judy Knox McCorkle, and loving and dedicated lifelong friend Marie Powell, as well as many nieces, nephews, and so many dear friends. Peggy was preceded in death by husband Ed, daughter Debbie McCorkle Ashley, son Eddie McCorkle, parents Perry and Dora Wilson, 10 brothers and 2 sisters Sara Wilson Simpson and Becky Wilson Strange. She was the last surviving sibling.

She was a member of Stevens Creek Church and was a member of the Epsilon Master Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority for 43 years. Peggy moved to Columbia, SC for her job. She not only got the job, but she caught the eye of her boss, Ed, and they were married on July 4, 1952.

The family would like to thank the staff at Augusta Gardens and Helping Hands Hospice for attending to our Mama’s daily needs but mostly for loving her. We invite you to join our family in celebrating our Mama’s home going at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2018 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Marty Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd.
