Obituary of Marcia Evers Marcia A. Evers, 96, of Loudonville, passed away at the Eddy Village Green, Cohoes on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Born January 19, 1922 to John and Mary (Brady) McCarthy. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute High School and Albany Business College.

She left employment to devote herself fully to raising her family. She eventually returned to work for the State of New York, retiring from the Department of Motor Vehicles in 1977. She was thoroughly devoted to her family and to her Catholic faith on which she depended for the courage to face all obstacles.

She prayed the rosary daily for a prayer list that continually grew by leaps as her family and friends asked her to remember so many others. As Alzheimer’s took her memory, she added prayers for all those whose names she had forgotten. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Loudonville since 1952 and a Life Member of Ladies Auxiliary, Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing, watching and walking tournament golf courses. She loved her family, loved life and was ever grateful for what had been given to her. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Edward J. Evers, Sr. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred, Hazel and Eileen.

Beloved Mother of three children; Edward J. Evers Jr. (Charlotte) of Fredericksburg, VA, Arlene E. Roland (Wayne) of Greenwood, SC and Thomas P. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from St. Pius X Catholic Church, Loudonville at 10:00am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Entombment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday, from 4 to 6pm.
