Pittenger, 97, of Chillicothe, went to be with her Lord, Monday, January 14, 2019 at National Church Residence. She was born February 22, 1921 in Ray, Ohio to the late Simon M. and Minnie Belle Dozer Collins. On December 16, 1945, she married Ivan Pittenger who preceded her in death December 6, 2001.

She leaves behind Richard (Carole) Pittenger, of Troy, Dwight (Denise) Pittenger, of Blue Ash, and Kay (Mike) Duffy, of Chillicothe; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and five brothers. Marcile was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a devoted homemaker who loved to plan celebrations for holidays and birthdays. Marcile started the tradition of the annual Pittenger reunion. She loved to travel, cook, sew, and serve others.

She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She attended regularly until her health failed. After moving to the Heritage, she was grateful to attend services at the Glade provided by Trinity United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Heritage for all their loving care. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Friday. You may sign her online register at www.
